FAQ

I AM INTERESTED, HOW DO WE GET GOING?

Great choice!

Email me at dennis@rdmfit.com so we can set-up a FREE 30 min discovery call. During this call we will go over your goals that you would like to achieve in your training and discuss the best days and times for training.

DO YOU QUALIFY FOR FSA/HSA?

Do you have FSA/HSA through your employer? Check to see if your personal training payments might be eligible for reimbursement through your HSA/FSA funds. Personal training is medicine and can often count for tax-free spending - saving an average of 30%.

I have partnered with a company called TrueMed that can help you determine if you are eligible.

If TrueMed determines that fitness can help prevent or reverse a health condition you care about (making it eligible for HSA/FSA), they will send you a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)

Once you are approved, just submit your future receipts and LMN to your HSA/FSA provider for reimbursement.

TrueMed will send instructions to get reimbursed and their customer support team will be available to assist. TrueMed guarantees reimbursement once qualified.

WHERE DO WE TRAIN?

Our training is at a private training facility, Evolution Fitness, that is located at Vance Jackson and Loop 1604. This is by appointment only, it is not a commercial gym. Since it is private that means you do not have to deal with a lot of people in a noisy, sweaty gym and parking is a snap! Please note, there are no showers at Evolution Fitness, but there is a large restroom where you can change if needed.

WHEN DO YOU OFFER TRAINING?

Please contact me to discuss training day/time options. All my private training is by appointment only. Let’s get on a call to discuss the various options between our schedules and make it happen!

Do you offer single sessions or by the week TRAINING?

No I do not offer single sessions. I offer three main programs: 6 week, 12 week and 24 weeks and within those I offer 2x or 3x per week as the number of sessions. The reason I do not offer single sessions or week by week is because these programs take a commitment in order to see change.

What are your expectations WHEN WE TRAIN TOGETHER?

My expectations are hopefully the same as yours - that you make changes to your body and to your health in a positive way. We both need to be on the same page as to what your outcome goals are. Those goals can and probably will change throughout us working together (for example, you might start off with wanting to lose weight, but 3 months later your focus is on building more muscle or strength endurance).

My expectations for our daily training are simple:

  • Be on time and ready to give 100% at your workout.

  • Be warmed up before your session. (Some light cardio, foam rolling).

  • No phones. Our session time is about you and your training, let’s not bring in the distraction of emails, texts or calls.

  • Be open and honest in your communications with me about how you are feeling, any injury concerns, etc - before, during and after your workouts.

  • Stick to your planned program outside of our sessions. This includes keeping up on your nutrition, hydration and sleep/recovery.

I have never lifted before, will this be hard?

As part of the initial meeting/consultation we will talk about your past and current fitness experience. If you have little to no experience lifting, that is completely fine and you are not alone. We will create a program that will be progressive in nature and while we might start at bodyweight only movements, we will progress through the use of bands, dumbbells, kettlebells and other gym equipment as you get stronger and more comfortable. Each client is different based on their current fitness and previous experience so this is taken into account when I build your program.

Your safety is of prime importance. I would never ask a client to do an exercise or lift weight if I didn’t believe they were properly prepared to do so.

HOW DO YOUR ONLINE (APP) PROGRAMS WORK?

My app programs are the easiest and most affordable way to train with me. I have options for at home (dumbbells only) or gym based. You purchase the program of your choice and it runs through my RDMFIT Personal Training app that you download and create an account on. The app is FREE. There are no additional fee’s associated outside of buying the program.

You will download the program and the program starts once purchased. You can workout at your pace and move the workouts to fit the days you wish them to be performed.

Do you provide Nutritional advice?

I am NASM Certified Nutrition Coach, but since I am not a Registered Dietician/Nutritionist, I am not allowed to give specific nutritional advice or meal plans. I can, however, provide general nutritional information and help you make solid choices. You will receive a copy of my Client Nutrition Guide to get you started on some great habits!

I work with a Registered Dietician, Adam Ross, R.D., who is available to work with you directly on specific nutritional issues. You would work with Adam separately, at his rates, but he and I would work together to make sure that your training is coinciding with his nutrition plan and vice versa. You can find more info about Adam under Programs ->Personal Training ->Nutrition Coaching

I’m working through an injury, can I still train with you?

Yes. All I ask is that you provide a signed release by your Doctor that allows you to begin training again. I am happy to work along with your Doctor or Physical Therapist to ensure we are continuing the proper rehabilitation that they have prescribed.

Our goal is to keep your level of strength and fitness high during your recovery without inhibiting the healing process.

I have had an issue with my knee, can you help me?

As I am not a medical doctor nor a physical therapist, it is out of my scope to diagnose injuries. I would recommend you to a physical therapist or an orthopedic doctor who can accurately diagnose the issue. I can then work with you and your doctor on any rehabilitative exercises to get you back to 100%.

Do you have a RefunD Policy?

For in-Person training: All programs are paid in FULL at the start of training.

I have a NO REFUND policy with three exceptions:

  1. You move out of the area and it is no longer convenient for us to train 1:1 in person (note: we can continue our sessions virtually if you wish to continue).

  2. You are active military and get deployed.

  3. You have a major medical issue that prevents you from working out. This will require a doctor’s signed letter stating that you should not be training at that time.

For any Online Programs: All online programs are Non-Refundable since once you purchase you have access to the complete program.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY FOR IN-PERSON TRAINING?

Understand that this is my profession and I only make money when I have booked sessions so it is important that we keep your sessions a priority. It is never good to have to cancel a session, but sometimes life happens. So my policies are simple and straight forward:

  1. 24 hour notice is required to cancel or re-schedule a session at no cost and session will be re-scheduled per trainer/client agreement.

  2. Sessions cancelled within 12 hours of scheduled time will be considered charged as a paid session.

  3. If all sessions are not completed within the grace period of any program package they are considered forfeited.

  4. If you are running late to a session, please notify me by calling. Please do not text as I may be with a client and not see it. The session will be shortened based on the time we have remaining, however if I have no client booked behind you we will complete the full session.

  5. If I cancel on you before our session (for example, I get sick or have an emergency) then we will re-schedule and I will provide you with one additional FREE session to your package.

MY VACATION POLICY

At some point I will take a vacation. This might be around major holidays when it is usually a time most others take vacation or it might be at a point during the year when both my wife and I can take a break.
